Heat wave grips North India; Jaisalmer sizzles at 45.8 deg C

Searing heat continued to grip most parts of north India with the mercury crossing 45 degree Celsius in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer and Kota districts.
Heat wave conditions prevailed in Delhi with the maximum temperature settling at 41.7 degree Celsius and the minimum was recorded at 26.5 degree Celsius.
The weatherman has predicted the maximum and minimum temperatures would 43 and 26 degree Celsius in the national capital tomorrow.
Reeling under intense heat wave, Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district recorded a maximum temperature of 45.8 degree Celsius followed by Kota at 45.2 degree Celsius, Sriganganagar 44.9 degree Celsius, Barmer at 44.8 degree, Bikaner 44.7 degree, Churu 44.3 degree, Jodhpur 44.6 degree, Jaipur 43.8 degree and Ajmer 43 degree Celsius.
In Haryana, Gurgaon was the hottest at 41.7 degree Celsius, followed by Kurukshetra at 41.6 degree and Hisar at 41.5 degree Celsius. Ambala and Bhiwani recorded maximum temperatures at 40.9 and 40.8 degree Celsius respectively.
Temperature in the Union Territory of Chandigarh settled at 40.5 degree Celsius while Patiala in Punjab recorded a maximum temperature of 41.3 degree Celsius. The maximum temperatures in Amritsar and Firozpur settled at 41.2 degree celsius and Ludhiana at 41.4 degree Celsius.
