Blistering heat wave continued to sweep most parts of Haryana and Punjab today with maximum temperatures hovering between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius at most places.
According to a MeT Department official here, Chandigarh's maximum temperature settled close to 42 degrees Celsius, four notches above the normal limit.
In Haryana, Hisar, Narnaul and Bhiwani continued to sizzle, with maximum temperatures hovering in the range of 43-45 degrees.
Karnal and Ambala too experiencing hot weather conditions.
Patiala, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar and Bathinda in Punjab also braved the hot weather conditions, with temperatures hovering in the range of 42-44 degrees Celsius.
According to the MeT forecast, heat wave conditions are likely to continue at many places in Haryana and at a few places in Punjab over the next two days.
