Heat wave sweeps UP, Basti hottest at 44 degree Celsius

Uttar Pradesh continued to reel under scorching heat today despite day temperatures falling appreciably in Moradabad and Meerut divisions.
While day temperatures dropped in Moradabad and Meerut divisions, they remained appreciably above normal in Gorakhpur, Faizabad, Varanasi, Allahabad and Lucknow divisions, Met office said.
Basti was hottest in the state recording the maximum temperature at 44.0 degree Celsius.
Met office has forecast rain or thundershowers at isolated places in Western UP in the next two days and mainly dry weather in Eastern part of the state.
