Heatwave conditions in Rajasthan abated today, with the mercury showing downward trend in several places of the state.
Mercury dipped by one to six degree Celsius at many places in the state following the influx of moisture in south-west region, including Kota and Udaipur divisions, a MeT report said.
In the last 24 hours, Bakani in Jhalawar district received rainfall of 9 cm, followed by Ramganjmandi 8 cm and Jhalarapatan 6 cm.
Mercury also dipped in Udaipur division where the maximum temperature was 35.6 degree Celsius.
At rest of the places, the maximum temperature varied from 38 to 43 degree Celsius, including Ajmer, Kota, Barmer, Bikaner, and Sriganganagar.
There was great sigh of relief in Jaipur as mercury dipped to 42.7 degree Celsius, against 44 degrees yesterday.
Churu recorded the highest day temperature for today at 43.7 degree Celsius, against yesterday's 45.5.
There would be no major change in the present atmospheric system and mercury may fluctuate due to south-western winds, the MeT forecast said.
