Heatwave condition sweeps Bihar

Intense heatwave conditions today took Bihar into its grip and paralysed normal life, with Gaya in Magadh region recording a sizzling 43 degrees Celsius.
According to MeT office, there is no hope of relief from the scorching heat in the State in the next 48 hours.
The maximum and minimum temperatures likely to stay between 43 to 26 degrees C respectively, a MeT official said.
Bhagalpur recorded a maximum of 42.6 degrees C while the state capital Patna simmered at 42.4 degrees C, around a notch below yesterday's 43 degrees C.
The oppressive heat kept people indoors, as most of postponed their outside engagements till after sun-down.
