A large contingent of policemen in anti-riot gear has been deployed and the situation is under control in the area, which had witnessed communal clash in October of last year.
Clashes erupted between residents of Blocks 26 and 27. It all started after some youths entered into an argument over parking, which spiralled into street fights during which stones
and bottles were hurled at each other from both sides. An ATM machine and a few vehicles were damaged during the incident.
As policemen patrolled the area, shops remained open but there were not too many people on the streets. Locals said that they have spent sleepless night because of tension in the locality.
