Heavy rain triggers landslide in HP; 3 more dead in UP

Nearly 30 houses, including those of Army men, were destroyed in a landslide in Himachal Pradesh while rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh claimed three more lives even as moderate to heavy showers lashed several parts in the region.
The national capital today witnessed light and sporadic rains with day temperature settling three degrees below normal.
The city received 0.6 mm of rains during the day, but in last 24 hours ending at 8.30 AM today, the city recorded 13.5 mm of rain.
The minimum temperature settled a notch below average at 25.3 degrees Celsius, while the maximum was recorded at 30.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal.
The weatherman has predicted generally cloudy sky tomorrow, with possibility of rains and thundershowers in some areas.
In Uttar Pradesh, three more persons lost their lives in rain-related incidents in Sitapur even as moderate to rather heavy showers and thundershowers occurred at isolated places over the state.

The river Ganga was still flowing above the danger mark at Gazipur and Ballia and Sharda at Palia Kalan.
Ghaghra which continued to flow above the danger level at Elgin Bridge has receded to just below the red mark at Ayodhya and Turtipar and Rapti was flowing close to the danger mark at Bhinga (Shrawasti) and Balrampur.
Met officials said that rain and thundershowers would occur at many places over the state with heavy rainfall likely to be witnessed at isolated places in the next 48 hours.
