Heavy rainfall in Sheikhpura, Samastipur districts

Heavy showers lashed Sheikhpura and Samastipur districts of Bihar whereas light to moderate rainfall recorded in most places in south west and south central parts of the state since yesterday, Meteorological department said.
Light rainfall occurred at a few places in north west, north central and south east parts of the state apart from one or two places in north eastern parts of the state.
Sheikhpura town received the highest amount of rainfall of 11 cm, followed by 9 cm in Barbigha also in Sheikhpura district, 8 cm in Pusa in Samastipur district, 6 cm each in Kinjar in Arwal district and Deo in Aurangabad district, and 5 cm each in Galgalia in Kisanganj district and Bodhgaya in Gaya district.
The state capital remained hot and humid all through the day.
The MeT department has predicted one or two spells of rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hours in various parts of the state.
Patna, Gaya and Purnea are expected to witness a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers while Bhagalpur may witness generally cloudy sky with light rain.
Patna recorded the highest maximum temperature at 35.9 degrees Celsius among prominent cities followed by 35.6 degrees Celsius in Purnea, 33.5 degrees Celsius in Bhagalpur and 32.6 degrees Celsius at Gaya.
Gaya and Bhagalpur remained the most humid place with each registering a maximum morning humidity level at 85 per cent followed by 81 per cent of humidity level in Patna and 79 per cent in Purnea.
