Heavy rainfall occurs at isolated places in Rajasthan

Heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in the Udaipur and Kota divisions of Rajasthan today with light to moderate rainfall being recorded at a few places in the state in the last 24 hours, a Meteorological (MeT) Department official said.

Parts of Dungarpur district recorded 15 to 19 cm rainfall, whereas various places across the state recorded rainfall ranging from 1 cm to 12 cm in the last 24 hours.

Churu recorded nearly 2.1 cm rainfall, whereas traces were recorded in Ajmer, Pilani and Kota, he said.

Sriganganagar was recorded the hottest with 44.8 degrees Celsius followed by 40.8 in Jaisalmer, 40.7 in Bikaner, 40.3 in Barmer, 40 in Churu, 35.5 in Pilani, 35.4 in Jodhpur, 34.7 in Kota, 34.6 in Jaipur, 33.8 in Ajmer and 30.6 degree Celsius in Dabok, respectively.

The MeT department has forecast heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in southeast Rajasthan and dust storm/thunderstorm with squally winds at isolated places in north Rajasthan in the next 24 hours.
