Heavy rains in Delhi today threw traffic out of gear at several places, as waterlogging crippled vehicular movement in parts of the city causing hardship to commuters.
The areas where water stagnated following the afternoon showers include Savitri Cinema flyover and Pamposh Enclave bus stand.
A MeT department official said 4.6 mm rainfall was recorded in the city during the day.
Waterlogging was also reported from Badarpur Border to MB Road near railway under pass, Apollo to Asharm Chowk, Okhla Mandi and under Chirag Delhi flyover, Delhi Traffic Police said.
"Traffic in the carriageway from Shahdara to Apsara Border was very heavy due to potholes near Chintamani Chowk," they said.
Areas in Ganesh Nagar to Nirman Vihar, Khajuri Chowk, Hamdard to Vayusenabad, Vijay Chowk Mangal Market Mandadali and Nand Nagri Depot were also waterlogged causing slowing down or halting of traffic.
Traffic was also heavy in the carriageway from Peera Garhi to Tikri Border, Nangloi to Najafgarh, and under Modi Mill flyover due to water stagnation bringing hardship for commuters.
