Heavy rains continue in sub-Himalayan Bengal

Heavy rains continued to lash districts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal, while Gangetic West Bengal received little to no rainfall today.
The Met department has forecast heavy downpour in the sub-Himalayan area till July 24. In rain-deficit Gangetic West Bengal one or two spells of rain have been predicted.
Coochbehar in north Bengal recorded 51 mm rainfall, the highest in the state since morning.
The hill town of Darjeeling received 48.0 mm rainfall, while Jalpaiguri recorded 28.8 mm precipitation, the Met department said.
Burdwan and Sriniketan recorded the state's highest temperature at 34.0 degrees Celsius, while in Kolkata it was 32.9 degrees Celsius.
