Srinagar received 13.1 mm of rain from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, a spokesman of the MeT office said here.
The maximum temperature recorded in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, was 16.8 degrees Celsius, which was around eight notches below normal, he said.
Temperatures in other parts of the Valley also witnessed a decline, the spokesman said.
He predicted moderate to heavy rains at most places in the Valley, adding the higher reaches may receive light snowfall.
