Heavy rains lash Kolhapur

The district has been receiving incessant rains for last three days owing to which 49 Kolhapur Type Weirs have come under flood water and normal life has been disrupted in some rural areas, sources said today.
The Gagan Bavada tehsil in the district recorded the highest downpour in last 24 hours, they said.
Because of the good rainfall, the water level in major dams is increasing rapidly.
In the last 24 hours, the district received an average rainfall of 90.91 mm with Gagan Bavada tehsil recording 190.05 mm downpour, sources added.
