With the incessant rains in last 24 hours, Gangapur dam (with 5630 mcft capacity), the main source of drinking water for the city, is now filled 23 per cent.
The rains triggered flood in Godavari river with the historic "Ramkund" overflowing today. Besides two cars parked on the banks of the river in the city were washed away in swirling water.
Water-logging was witnessed in many low-lying areas in the city.

As per an official statement, people living by the river side in Nashik have been asked to vacate their houses.
Meanwhile, two persons got trapped in a temple on the banks of river in Nashik and efforts are on to rescue them.
