Heavy showers across North Bengal, Gangetic WB also gets rains

Heavy rains occurred at isolated places over Alipurduar and Darjeeling districts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Nadia district of Gangetic West Bengal, the Met office said.
According to a senior official at the Kolkata IMD, the southwest monsoon has been active over sub-Himalayan West Bengal resulting in heavy rainfalls at isolated places of the state.
Heavy rains occurred at Behrampore (24mm) while Bagdogra recorded 15mm, Krishnagar (13mm) and Diamond Harbour (8mm), the official said.
"Rain or thundershower are likely to occur at most places over Sikkim and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and at several places over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands," the official said.
Heavy rains are likely to occur at isolated places over Sikkim and Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri districts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal, he said.
Moderate to heavy rains are likely to occur at most places over Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Coochbehar, Malda, North and South Dinajpur districts, he said.
"Many places over East and West Midnapur, Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, Nadia, Bankura, Kolkata, Burdwan, Birbhum, Murshidabad, Purulia districts are also likely to register moderate rainfall tomorrow," the official added.
