The weatherman has said the spell of heavy rain is likely to continue till August 11.
Downpours whipped Kangra, Hamirpur, Shimla, Una and Mandi. Four houses collapsed in a landslide in the Sarkaghat area of Mandi though there were no reports of loss of life, an official spokesman said.
The sharp showers have damaged several roads in the state. Government property estimated at Rs 291 crore has been damaged, a Public Works Department official said.
He said 277 JCBs, 25 bulldozers and adequate personnel have been deployed to clear landslide debris.
Dera Gopipur in Kangra district was the wettest place in the state, recording 174 mm of rains over the last 24 hours.
Bhoranj in Hamirpur gauged 160 mm of precipitation, Dharamshala 125mm, Baldwara 85mm, Sujanpurtihra 74mm, Nagritasurian 63mm, Aghar 60mm, Hamirpur 54mm, Pachhad & Ghumarwin 44mm each.
