The rains triggered landslides and blocked roads in interior areas, and woes of people in Rampur and Kullu areas were compounded by earthquake, measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, and tremors which rocked the area in quick succession.
Dhauladhar mountain ranges experience first snowfall of the season while high altitude tribal areas and high mountain passes also received fresh snowfall.
Jogindernagar in Mandi district was the wettest in the region with recording 144 mm of rain, while Dharamshala and Nagrota in Kangra district received 99 mm and 95 mm rain, followed by Naina Devi 71 mm, Renuka 60 mm, Gaggal 59 mm, Rampur 58 mm, Palampur 41 mm, Rajgarh 40 mm and Manali 37 mm.
The minimum temperatures rose marginally with Kalpa and Keylong recording a low of 13.0 degrees Celsius and 14.3 degrees Celsius respectively, followed by Manali 15.0 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 16.2 degrees Celsius, Shimla 16.4 degrees Celsius and Palampur 18.5 degrees Celsius.
