"There will be heavy to very heavy snowfall and rain in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from February 1 to February 3," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The official said such weather condition would be due to a western disturbance in the region.
Regarding Jammu and Kashmir, the official said that heavy to very heavy snowfall and rain is likely in the area during these three days while Himachal Pradesh would witness the same on February 2 and 3.
"Heavy rain/snowfall would occur at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir," it said in its forecast bulletin for today.

Similarly, in its forecast bulletin for tomorrow, the department said some parts in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh would witness very heavy snowfall.
"Heavy rain/snowfall would occur at a few places over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh with isolated very heavy fall and isolated heavy fall over Uttarakhand," the department said in its prediction for February 3.
The department also said in its bulletin that rain and snow would occur at a few places over western Himalayan region on February 4 and there will be significant decrease in it thereafter.
