Indian beverage manufacturer Hector Beverages has partnered with CleanMax Solar to take the renewable energy route for its manufacturing facility, the solar company said Thursday.

The beverage company has commissioned a 345.6 kWp rooftop solar plant at its manufacturing unit in Mysuru, CleanMax Solar said in a statement.

Hector Beverages markets Paper Boat, which offers a range of Indian ethnic drinks, will be able to generate approximately 5,23,000 kWh of clean energy annually through the solar rooftop project.

In addition, the solar rooftop project will enable the company to meet approximately 58 per cent of its power requirement at a cost, which is 30 per cent cheaper than the prevailing grid electricity tariffs, CleanMax Solar said.

Further, the company has received approvals for net metering, which will allow it to export surplus solar power to the grid, thereby saving approximately more than Rs 1.1 crore on its electricity bills annually.

Speaking about the partnership with Hector Beverages, CleanMax Solar co-founder Andrew Hines said, "This project promises to significantly reduce operating costs for Hector Beverages, through our OPEX model of solar power generation."
