However, the company had posted a net loss of Rs 3.58 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, HeidelbergCement India said in a BSE filing.
The total income of the company increased to Rs 500.5 crore, over Rs 471.41 crore in the year-ago period.
In a statement, the company said that the construction activities picked up as availability of sand/aggregates improved in most parts of central India during the third quarter of the ongoing fiscal.
"Despite further hardening of petcoke and fuel prices during the quarter, total operating costs remained at par on y-o-y basis driven by concerted efforts on consumption parameters," the statement said adding that the EBITDA margin improved to 17.1 per cent of net sales.
