Helios and Matheson Q2 Net up 40.7% at Rs 16.4 cr

IT firm Helios and Matheson Information Technology today said its net profit grew 40.7 per cent to Rs 16.4 crore for January-March 2014 quarter as against Rs 11.6 crore in the same period last year.
The Chennai-based firm saw revenues stood at Rs 203.4 crore in the reported quarter, up 32.2 per cent from Rs 153.2 crore in the year-ago period.
It had 3,792 employees as of March 31, 2014 with an addition of 176 employees during the quarter on a gross basis. Attrition rate stood at 11.99 per cent.

Snapdeal.Com launches Windows mobile shopping app * Online marketplace Snapdeal.Com today said it has launched an app on Windows Mobile operating system to enable easy access for consumers to brands across its platform.
The company, which has mobile applications for Android and iPhone users, sees about 50 per cent of orders being placed over mobile phones.

Airtel offers live streaming of election results on Pocket TV * Telecom major Bharti Airtel today said it will offer free viewing of news channels on its mobile application 'Pocket TV' to help subscribers stay tuned to live television action when results of the 16th Lok Sabha elections are announced.
Customers can download the mobile app and enjoy two days of free viewing of all news channels (Hindi, English and vernacular) on the app, Airtel said in a statement.
The offer will be available on May 15 and 16.

UST Global sets up global delivery centre in Shanghai * IT firm UST Global today said it has set up its first delivery center in Shanghai, China.
The centre which will support both local customers as well as UST's Global 2000 clients will initially have strength of 100 with plans to rapidly expand to over 1,000, it said in a statement.
"The Shanghai center is a strategic investment in providing client-centric focus. It will also help us expand our reach into other local market opportunities as demand for IT services heighten," UST Global CEO Sajan Pillai said.
Headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California, UST Global has 14,000 employees and operations in the US, India, Mexico, Spain, UK, Malaysia, Philippines, and Singapore.
