Malini revealed that she will head to her constituency Mathura post her celebrations at home.
"Will be in Mumbai with my family for my birthday with a small get together at home and then go to Mathura for a few days where I will oversee preparations for the Cleanliness Drive... Thank you all for your good wishes," Malini posted on Twitter.
The actress, who is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer, made her acting debut in 'Sapno Ka Saudagar' in 1968 and since then has appeared in over 150 films including 'Seeta Aur Geeta', 'Sholay', 'Sanyasi', 'Dharmatma', 'Pratigya', 'Satte Pe Satta', 'Baghban' among others.
Malini was honoured with Padma Shri and Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 2000.
She was nominated as Rajay Sabha MP (2003-2009) by the then President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, from Maharashtra. In February 2004, she joined BJP officially and in this year's General Elections she made a dream debut from Mathura Lok Sabha constituency defeating incumbent Jayant Chaudhary of RLD by an impressive margin of votes.
The actress recently began shooting for her long-time collaborator Ramesh Sippy's next 'Shimla Mirchi' in which she will star opposite a much younger Rajkummar Rao.
