Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today demanded the state government to clarify its stand on the Land Acquisition Act.
"We are strongly opposed to it (Land Acquisition Act), but the state government must come clear on its stance on the issue," Soren told reporters here.
Referring to the proposed Domicile policy, he said the Raghuvar Das-led government should issue a white paper on it.
Blaming the state of unnecessarily complicating the issue, he said, "What is the status of the proposed policy?, If there is anything wrong in it, do correct the same."
He described the Raghuvar Das-led state government as the "first government to dance to the tunes of New Delhi".
Later, Hemant Soren and his father JMM supremo Sibu Soren inaugurated the party's three-day 10th Convention. Around 3,000 delegates including top-ranked party leaders from Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha and other parts of the country, are taking part in the convention.
Apart from organisational issues, the convention will deliberate on Land Acquisition Act, Domicile policy, displacement etc and chalk out future course of action, JMM General Secretary Suprio Bhattacharyya said.
