"Today I feel I have won a huge battle. I am now hopeful that I can begin a new life," she told Republica newspaper.
"I was so excited, I couldn't even share the news which I had been waiting for so long with my ailing son Prajwal and my old mother-in-law," said Kala talking to the daily.
She also thanked the Indian court, the government of India, journalists and Nepalese welfare organisations in India after the verdict.
Kala said she was expecting death sentence for the Talwar couple but was happy that justice has been finally done to her.
