Henry Ford Health, Pearl Human Care to set up hospital in TN

Healthcare service provider Pearl Human Care and US-based Henry Ford Health System would set up a 400-bed super-speciality hospital in Vellore with an investment of Rs 330 crore, officials said today.
As per the agreement between Henry Ford Health System and Pearl Human Care, the former would provide technology licence while the latter will be responsible for creating the infrastructure and managing the hospital.
"To be built with an investment of Rs 330 crore in Vellore, the 400-bed super-speciality hospital is expected to begin operations by 2019," Pearl Human Care Chairman and Managing Director G V Sampath said in a statement.
"The Naruvi Hospitals will deploy cutting-edge technology and globally advanced medical protocols and will provide employment opportunities to about 300 medical professionals and 1,000 support staff," he added.
The hospital would be managed by a team of in-house medical experts and international consultants guided by Henry Ford Health System.
"We are proud to be a part of this initiative to bring Henry Ford's approach of high quality patient experience in a cost effective manner in India. Henry Ford is well positioned to help Pearl Human Care meet that need," Henry Ford Health System's Chief Innovation Officer Mark Coticchia said.
Initially, the hospital will have 250 beds which would be scaled up to 400. The hospital would provide primary care, besides advanced speciality in cardiology and orthopaedics, he said.
