Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla today stressed on the need to have a proper demarcated and fenced border with Myanmar to prevent drugs and arms smuggling into the state.
Manipur has a 398 km unfenced border with Myanmar, she said.
"The porous border is allowing drugs and arms smuggling which is harming our society," Heptulla told PTI at the sidelines of an NEC plenary session here.
She said, "Both India and Myanmar, should work and have a strategy together and there should be a proper demarcated and clearly identified border."
