Guha and Roy, having gifted a string of low budget but clean, intelligent romantic and comedy tales to the Bengali audience for past several years, said "In Hercules the shadow looms bigger than the real self. As the bigger a man becomes the shadow grows in proportion."
About the reason behind casting Saswata Chatterjee in the role of Hercules, resembling the features of a buffalo, Guha said, "Apu happens to be one of the best actors of Bengal. And we love to see serious things from a comic perspective in life."

(classic tale), he said "It was a challenge to make a film on romance dating back to 20 years and stitching that with a contemporary love tale" and the success vindicates if there is freshness, novelty and narrative skill, the film will connect, for retro or contemporary both genre of audiences.
