Heritage Foods starts 2nd wind plant in Andhra for captive use

Heritage Foods today said it has commissioned second wind power plant of 2.1 mega watt capacity in Andhra Pradesh for captive consumption.
"The company has commissioned second wind power plant of 2.1 megawatt capacity at Vajrakarur, Ananthapur district, Andhra Pradesh, for captive consumption," Heritage Foods said in a BSE filing.
"The plant is expected to generate 5 million units per annum to be utilised/consumed at dairy plants of the company."
Earlier this week, Heritage Foods said it is in talks with Kishore Biyani-led Future Group for a possible stake sale to the home-grown retail major.
The Heritage Group, which was founded in 1992 by N Chandrababu Naidu, the current chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, reported a turnover of Rs 2,380.58 crore in the previous fiscal.
The company has operations in dairy, retail, agri, bakery, renewable energy and animal feed segments.
The stock of Heritage Foods was trading 3.21 per cent lower at Rs 890 from its previous close on BSE.
