Heroin seized in Mizoram, two persons arrested

Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department's Anti Narcotics Squad seized 47 gm of heroin last night, department spokesman Peter Zohmingthanga today said.
Zohmingthanga said that the contraband worth around Rs 2.35 lakh in the local market was smuggled from Myanmar via Champhai district.
Tluangdoliana (40) of Tahan in Myanmar and Lalruatpuia (30) of Mizoram-Myanmar border Zokhawthar hamlet in Champhai district were arrested for possession of the seized heroin.
They were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
