Heroin worth Rs 1.5 crore seized in Bihar

Heroin worth about Rs 1.5 crore in the international market was seized from one person who was arrested in East Champaran district of Bihar, a Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB) official said today.
Acting on a tip-off, SSB personnel captured the man from a place on NH-28 in Ramgarhwa police station area last night and seized 300 gram of heroin, a motorcycle, a mobile phone and some cash from him, SSB Deputy Commandant Amit Kumar said.
"The heroin was kept in a polythene bag and its estimated price in the international market is about Rs 1.5 crore," Kumar said.
It was revealed during interrogation that the arrested man had obtained the contraband in Ramgarhwa and was promised Rs 20,000 for handing over the heroin to a person in Raxaul.
The SSB deputy commandant said the drug was to be smuggled to Nepal from Raxaul.
The arrested man was handed over to the local police by the SSB after interrogation.
