Heroin worth Rs 3 lakh seized, three persons arrested

Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department's Anti Narcotic Squad seized 135 grams of heroin worth around Rs three lakh from two places in Aizawl and arrested three persons including a woman for allegedly possessing the contraband.
State Excise and narcotics department officials said that the Anti Narcotic Squad seized 43 grams of heroin at Zemabawk locality last night and arrested Laltlanmawii (33) of Mizoram-Myanmar border Zokhawthar village in Champhai district in this connection.
The Anti Narcotic Squad again seized 92 grams of heroin from Falkland locality this morning an arrested Lalzawmthanga (38) and Zohmingmuana (27), both from Zokhawthar village in Champhai district were arrested.

The contraband was reportedly smuggled into Mizoram from Myanmar, the officials said, adding that the three accused were booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
