HGS Europe, a subsidiary of BPO firm Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS), today said it has created 500 new jobs across its Preston and Selkirk operations.
"About 300 new roles at Preston and another 200 new roles at Selkirk have been created in both front and back office positions. HGS has launched a large-scale recruitment campaign to attract local candidates looking for roles in the customer service industry," HGS said in a statement.
These are across roles in customer service, acquisition (sales), retention (loyalty), technical helpdesk and provisioning, it added.
These new roles will help deliver a range of multi-channel services across voice, email and white mail channels, it said.
"The creation of these 500 new roles across our sites in Preston and Selkirk will provide significant career opportunities in the local areas, and allow us to achieve our growth ambitions," HGS Europe Chief Executive Officer Matthew Vallance said.
HGS appreciates the support received from organisations like UK Trade and Investment, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Development International and Lancashire County Council that has helped drive expansion plans forward, he added.
HGS' centre in Preston employs over 400 full time employees and services clients like TalkTalk telecom.
The Selkirk centre on the Scottish borders supports clients including Quadrant Subscription Services, Lloyds Banking and Astra Zeneca.
