"As far as security arrangements of Kotbalwal jail are concerned, we have put in place high power fencing, whosoever touches it would trigger alarm system and person would suffer an electric shock and fall on ground," Director General of Prisons, Naveen Choudhary told reporters here today.
The power fencing has been put along the high security wall of the prison and the shock is non-lethal and activates the alarm system to alert the jail guards, he said.
Regarding other measures on the security front, he said all the areas within the jail are covered with CCTV cameras.
"Anybody doing any unusual activity within the jail is caught on the CCTV cameras, whether it is day or night", he said adding, apart from this, taking mobile phone inside the jail is banned and it is being strictly checked and monitored.
Mobile phone jammers would be soon installed in the jail, he said.
X-ray scanners are being used to ensure that no one carries any objectionable item inside the jail premises, Choudhary said.
