Replying to a question of Vinod Kumar Singh in the state legislative council, Shahi said Bihar recorded the highest figure of students leaving schools without completing education in between class I to class VIII.
As per information received from districts in 2011-12, it stood at 83 per cent, he added.
Shahi said as per report of District Information System for Education, in 2011-12 the drop out rate in between Standard I to V was 40.9 per cent, between VI to VIII it was 11.2 per cent and in classes IX to X, nearly 10 per cent students left schools without completing their studies.
