Himachal: 2 injured as rains trigger landslides

Two persons were injured after moderate rains in parts of Himachal Pradesh triggered landslides causing road blocks at some places, including on the Mandi-Kullu National Highway.
A massive landslide at Vindravani, 5 km from Mandi, blocked the Mandi-Kullu National Highway for six hours, said an official spokesman.
A Himachal Road Transport Corporation bus was buried partly under the debris in which two persons were injured, who were rushed to Hospital at Mandi.
Dharamsala in Kangra district received 55 mm rains while Naina Devi and Kangra recorded 46 mm and 40 mm rains respectively, followed by Kasauli 21 mm, Pachhad 13 mm, Hamirpur, Sarahan, Jubbal (11 mm each) andDharampur 10 mm.
Minimum temperatures dropped by one to two degrees Celsius and Keylong and Kalpa in tribal districts of Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur recorded a low of 12.5 degree and 13.4 degree, followed by Manali 13.8 degree.
Shimla recorded 16.3 degrees Celsius.

Rains have caused damage to crops, property and houses and the loss has been estimated to be over Rs 450 crore.
As many as 28 persons have lost their lives and 1,412 structures had been damaged or destroyed in rains.
