Himachal adopts new rule on appointment letters: Official
Press Trust of India Shimla Appointment letters of candidates selected for government jobs in Himachal Pradesh will not be withheld pending character verification as the state has adopted the Centre's revised rule which allows issue of provisional letters, an official said here today.
"Verification of character and antecedents would be carried out, but the issue of appointment letters would not be withheld pending such verification. Theappointing authorities would issue provisional appointment letters after obtaining a filled and duly signed attestation form and self declaration from the candidate for which attestation form has also been revised," an official spokesperson said.
He said the process causing undue delay in issue of appointment orders and consequent filing up of the post would be avoided through the revised policy.
In the provisional appointment letter, it would be clearly mentioned that in case character and antecedents of the candidate was found not verified or any false information was given by the candidate in the self-declaration, the provisional appointment letter would be cancelled forthwith and other criminal/legal action would also be taken as a consequence, the spokesperson said.
