The Chief Minister met Modi for a few minutes at his Parliament House office and is learnt to have raised the issue of pending projects and grants of the state.
Sources close to him said Singh sought Prime Minister's help in getting early clearances for pending road and rail projects in the state, besides clearance of pending developmental grants for the state.
The meeting assumes significance as it comes against the backdrop of Congress accusing the Centre of harassing Virbhadra Singh who is facing corruption charges after being booked by CBI and Enforcement Directorate.
The agency is investigating whether Singh and his family members allegedly amassed assets worth Rs 6.1 crore disproportionate to their known sources of income between 2009 and 2011 when he was the Union Minister of Steel in the UPA government.
CBI suspects that during the period, Singh invested Rs 6.1 crore in life insurance policies in his and his family members' names through an LIC agent claiming the money to be his agricultural income.
