"The objective of the programme is to educate school and college students across the state on cyber crime and prevent them from falling prey to it," he said releasing awareness material for distribution in educational institutions.
"People need to be educated because the dimensions of cyber crime are limitless and borderless," he said.
In majority cases people fall victim to "allurements" send to their e-mail Ids because of ignorance. The drive will ensure people are educated about such issues, the DGP said.
The state police after evaluating the success of this drive will plan two more initiatives, DIG (Cyber Crime) Vinod Dhawan said.
