The food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department of Himachal Pradesh has launcheda mobile app for ration card holders.
The app will function as a digital ration card and beneficiaries can openit on their android phones to make transaction at fair price shop, submit complaints and suggestions and contact department officers.
Informing this, food, civil supplies and consumer affairs minister Kishan Kapoor said, This app is available on Google Play store under the name of ePDS...
Kapoor said, "The best quality of rice, wheat floor, pulses and sugar is being supplied from fair price shops. And after buying these items from government agencies of India, the department has saved Rs 22 crore in past 5 months. This savings shall be brought to Rs 100 crore by year end.
He further said the government has started Himachal Grihni Suvidha Yojna under which 1 lakh women shall be provided gas cylinders and stoves, free of cost. In the first stage, 33,600 women shall be benefited this year, he added.
