Himachal gets season's first snowfall, Keylong records 7 deg C

Parts of Himachal Pradesh today witnessed the season's first snowfall while several other areas were lashed by storm leading to a drop in the temperature.
High altitude areas in tribal Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts got moderate snowfall.
While Palampur, Solan and Parvanoo were lashed by storm causing a fall in temperature.
Helicopter flights across Rohtang Pass were disrupted.
Governor Urmila Singh, who was on a two-day visit to the tribal areas, remained stranded there for two hours as weather conditions were not conducive to cross the Pass.
The state helicopter with Governor and other people on board crossed the Pass after two hours.
The Governor, who had offered prayers at Sri Trilokinath and Sri Mrikuladevi temples, had to return from Rohtang Pass as weather conditions did not permit her chopper to fly across it.

Palampur and adjoining areas were hit by a hail storm while Shimla, Solan and Parvanoo were lashed by a severe storm due to which power transmission which snapped in the areas.
The mercury dropped to 7.1 degree Celsius at Keylong and 8.2 at Kalpa while it fell marginally to stay at 11 deg C at Manali, 15 deg C at Shimla and Solan, 18.5 deg C in Sundernagar and 22.2 degree in Una.
Bhuntar recorded a high of 33 deg C followed by Una 32.8 deg C, Sundernagar 32.5 deg C, Nahan 28.9 deg C, Solan 28 deg C and Shimla 24 deg C.
