Himachal Governor urges youth to refrain from use of drugs

Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Dev Vrat today urged students to abstain from the use of alcohol and asked them to launch a crusade against drugs.
Speaking at a function organised by Shoolini University, Solan to generate awareness about the harmful effects of intoxicants, the Governor said that the youth were the future of the country and should participate in nation building activities and not fall prey to the drug menace.
He asked the youth to associate actively in the mainstream activities instead of leading passive lives and also launched a web portal for educating the youth regarding the ill effects of drugs.
The Governor said that drugs were not only damaging their health but also destroying their future and weakening the nation. He urged the youth to launch a crusade against drugs by initiating a mass awareness campaign so that the message reached every nook and corner of the state.
Vrat said that the nation could march ahead on the path of progress only with the support of young generation and the youth should read biography of freedom fighters to take lesson of patriotism and nationalism.
He said that youth should be health conscious and maintain a healthy lifestyle to remain physically fit which would automatically lead to healthy mind and positive thinking as well as good attitude which were pre-requisites for achieving success in life.
