The project aims at facilitating exchange of data between courts, police, prosecution, jails and forensic labs. Under the system, all stakeholders will have online and instant access to data available in different software applications, an official said.
The project would reduce the time spent in manual exchange of documents/information among various departments.
The ultimate objective of the project is speedy delivery of justice to the common man and improving the quality of investigation.
The Computer Society of India (CSI), which is the premier agency involved in evaluating e-Governance projects, has given the "Award of Excellence" to the ICJS. The award would be given during the annual conference of CSI on December 14 at Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
