Satellite phones have been provided to Himachal Pradesh's District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) for better coordination in the hour of need, officials said Monday.

The phones were given to the officials at a meeting held here this morning.

In the next phase, satellite phones will also be provided to officials at the Sub Divisional level, a senior official said.

In addition to this, 15 Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSATs) will be provided to the districts shortly, he added.
