Himachal vigilance bureau files FIR against former DGP

The Himachal Pradesh Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau has filed an FIR against former DGP D S Minhas for alleged misuse of his position when he was the Commissioner of Shimla Municipal Corporation.
A vigilance official confirmed that the FIR had been registered against Minhas, who has built a private house near St Bede's crossing in Shimla in violation of the Municipal Corporation Act and other building norms.
"The municipal corporation and state Urban Development Department had complained to the bureau and we examined the facts and took opinion of the law. Prima facie a case was made out against the former DIG and some other officials," he said.

Beside other offences, Minhas was also booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act for alleged misuse of his position, said the vigilance official.
Manhas has denied the charges and termed it as case of vendetta against him.
