The Hinduja Group joined hands with the Indo-European Business Forum (IBEF) to honour Dada J P Vaswani during a visit to the UK this week.
The spiritual leader and head of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission was invited to give a lecture on his vision of education serving as a catalyst for worldwide peace and harmony at the Institute of Directors (IoD) in central London on Thursday.
"Our beloved Dada throughout his life has enlightened us with his teachings of humanity, love and virtue. His messages are most relevant to present day life which can be clouded by tension, stress, bitterness and hatred," said Srichand P Hinduja, chairman of the Hinduja Group, as part of his welcome address on behalf of his brothers - Gopichand, Prakash and Ashok Hinduja.
"In simple words, he advises us all that in the midst of your daily work, in the difficulties and storms of life, pause for a while, again and again.
The past is forgotten, the future is unknown, but the present is supreme. Let us enjoy and celebrate life in the present," he added.
The special evening with the visiting philosopher was aimed at spreading his message of the pre-eminence of education to a British audience.
Dada Vaswani's message highlights that: "Education must not be merely academic or abstract. It must not merely aim at stuffing the students with information acquired from dead books or a set of sterile moralities and superficial values.
"True education should equip the students to cope adequately with life, with what lies ahead of them so that they may become worthy participants in the adventure of life.
