While Dimapur town is having the highest number of 41 puja pandals, the state capital Kohima has around 13 pandals.
Various army and para-military units throughout the state are also organising pujas.
Besides offering prayers, various fairs are also being organised in different locations, especially in Dimapur and Kohima.
With global warming becoming a major concern throughout the world, a committee for Durga Puja in Dimapur district has been observing the celebration with a purpose of educating the people about the effects of global warming and measures to control it.
