Hindustan Media Ventures (HMVL) today reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 40.32 crore and a total income of Rs 227.92 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2018.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 42.35 crore and total income of Rs 250.98 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
The company, in a filing to the BSE, said previous year/period numbers are not comparable as HT Digital Streams Ltd ceased to be an associate of the company with effect from December 28, 2017.
The board of directors of the company had approved the sale of its entire investment in HT Digital Streams to Digicontent (formerly HT Digital Ventures Limited), a fellow subsidiary company, it added.
The company publishes Hindi daily 'Hindustan' and magazines like Nandan and Kadambini.
