Hindustan Powerprojects completes boiler test in Annupur

Hindustan Powerprojects today said it has successfully conducted boiler light-up test for the 600 MW second unit of Anuppur thermal power project.
The test signifies the readiness of the boiler for power generation process and it has started the work for steam blowing and synchronisation of the unit well within the scheduled timeline, the company said in a release.
MB Power (MP) Limited is a special purpose vehicle of Hindustan Powerprojects and is setting up a 2,520 MW thermal power plant in phases at village Jaithari, district Anuppur. It is expected to be completely operational by 2018.

Industrialist Palani G Periasamy elected SICCI President * Palani G Pariasamy, a noted industrialist and chairman of hospitality service provider Le Royal Meridien, has been elected as the President of Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI).
Periasamy was elected unanimously at the 105th annual general meeting of the chamber held recently. He replaces Jawahar Vadivelu, a press release said.

Two-day national symposium on instrumentation from Oct 30 * The 40th National Symposium on instrumentation "NSI-40" organised by the Instrument Society of India (ISOI) of IISc Bengaluru would be held on October 30 and 31.
More than 150 scientists and researchers from 70 institutions, including IISc, IITs and NITs and from scientific laboratories and industries such as CSIR, BARC, ISRO, NAL, IGCAR and ONGC, would present their research findings in the event being jointly organised by Kumaraguru College of Technology.
