Hindustan Zinc on Wednesday announced an initiative to revive the iconic Fatehsagar lake in Udaipur to mark the World Environment Day.
"Under the month long project, Fatehsagar Lake will be desilted by 22.5 lakh cubic meter, thus paving the way for long term water solution in the region and conserving the local flora and fauna," the firm said in a release here.
The company said it has already set up 20 million litres per day (MLD)Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Udaipur to address the issue of sewage dumping and its capacity will be increased to 60 MLD, which will treat more than half of the sewage generated by the entire city.
