Additional Sessions Judge Sanjeev Kumar awarded the jail term to 27-year-old Parveen, who is suffering from HIV, and 26-year-old Mohammed Mujahid, both residents of Jawalapuri here.
"It is a known fact that offences of robbery are increasing in the society day-by-day. Robbers have no fear of law in their minds.
"Considering the facts and circumstances of this case and family position of the accused persons and their previous record, I sentence both convicts Parveen and Mohammed Mujahid for a period of four years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5000 each, for offence punishable under section 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of the IPC," the judge said.
The complainant had told the police that the incident took place when he was returning after finishing his work at Narela on motorcycle. On reaching a CNG pump station in Rohini, he stopped his vehicle to ease, he had said.
